We may not feel qualified, confident, or adequate to do well what God has called us to do. The truth is, no one is. We will always be unworthy and inadequate, but through Christ, we can do all things. When we are used by the Lord, it is because of who He is, not who we are. As we look to His to adequacy, power, and authority, we can hear His voice and be used to fulfill our mission by the glory of His Spirit.
Just because we don’t do something well, doesn’t grant the luxury of changing our assignment. Assignments given by the Lord are non-negotiable. All too often, people will resort to what they do well, that which is familiar and comfortable. In doing so, they forsake what He has called them to do. We don’t have that luxury.
Christ’s prayer to our heavenly Father is “On earth as in heaven.” All else under heaven flows from that mandate. We cannot lose the fact that God has called us to invade the impossible and demonstrate his love, purity, and power. Christ gave the commission to go and preach proclaiming, the Kingdom of heaven is at hand with the command to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, and cast out devils (Mathew 10:7-8).
It’s not how well you start or begin your mission and assignment, but how you proceed forward. Ask God for the Spirit of wisdom to direct your path and decree His answer. In turn, He will put light on your path. As you walk on your ordained designated path to fulfill your mandate and purpose, the light of God fills you with His peace and love with fullness of joy.
You will show me the path of life: in your presence is fullness of joy: at your right hand, there are pleasures forevermore (Psalms 15:11).
