A New Breed of Warrior

The Lord is mobilizing a special force, a new breed of champions to form an elite army – a Delta Force if you will. These chosen few have gone through some of the most difficult and exhausting training that rivals even that which has been devised by a man on earth – the School of the Holy Spirit. The discipline, focus and training that these elites received equal no less than that received by the Rangers and Navy Seals. And like the special military forces, many are called but few are chosen. Those who do not pass the rigorous test simply remain as soldiers while the rest go on to become warriors.

These are the warriors that respond to the sound of battle, an elite force of commandos that the Lord is mustering together. To the traditional church, they are misfits that do not mold very well into the lifestyle of a typical church. But to God, they are like the mighty men of David that rallied together for a cause. As the prophet Daniel prophetically saw, they are strong in the Lord called to perform mighty exploits.

And such as those that do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries, but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits (Dan. 11:32).

You cannot put eagles in a chicken pen and expect them to be happy. Chickens love to peck at one another and are content to scratch in the dirt. Eagles are created to soar in the Spirit and are not confined to the earth. Nor can you expect a warrior to be content playing solitaire with Christians that have nothing better to do! Like a race horse at the gate, they are equipped for action with a passion to run the race!  To ask a Christian that has a warrior’s heart to mesh into a traditional church is like asking a race horse to retire and give pony rides at the county fair!

A SPECIAL FORCE

Over the years these warriors have felt like they have gone through hell and they have!  Because of the rigorous training, many have dropped out but this is by God’s design in order to reveal the Gideon few. This is part of God’s master plan to prepare them for the battles now upon us. It is through their previous skirmishes and trials; that they have learned how to effectively use the divine weapons of warfare that are mighty in God to the pulling down of strongholds.

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. (4) For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.           (2 Corinthians. 10:3-4).

These Christians are battle hardened with a firm resolve to follow the Lord of Hosts wherever He leads them. These are the dreaded champions that have not succumbed to the traditions of men and have overcome the accuser of the brethren. They do not resort to gossip; slander or fault finding, but as oracles of God speak His words that bring life to those that are weary and in need of living waters.

These are the new breed of Christians that have captured the heart of the Father and He has captured them by His love. As passionate lovers of God and His truth, they vow to never turn back nor retreat from the enemies of the cross. You can tell by the fire in their eyes that they mean what they say and they say what they mean. And yet they are easy to be around because of their easy manner being full of the joy and life of the Lord.

They fight as one with the resolve to never leave any man behind. They understand that the key to a successful mission is when everyone marches in unity toward a common objective. As one, they push back the tide of the adversary by the power of unity. They stand confident that if one can put a thousand to flight, two can put ten thousand to flight! These are the peacemakers of God that reveal the righteousness of God by the very peace they walk in that crushes Satan under their feet. The power of their peace comes from the Prince of Peace- Jesus Christ!

It is because of their love for God and His people that they find the courage to prevail and having done all,  push back the forces of darkness by the light and power of His love. Empowered by the greatest weapon that has ever been unleashed upon this earth from heaven- the Father’s heart, they march to the rhythm of His heart beat. In the unity of the Spirit, they serve with the Father’s heart that reveals His love. It is the faith that works by love. This elite force will never fail as they follow the Captain of the Hosts, for love never fails.

THE OLD IS OUT AND THE NEW IS IN

There is an obvious shift taking place and we are being prepared for war. When Israel left Egypt, they left as an unorganized mob, but when they came into the Promised Land, they entered in as an organized army. Israel wandered in the wilderness until the men of war that came out of Egypt perished because they did not obey the voice of the Lord. In this new army, there is no room for sissies, the fearful and undisciplined. Thus, the old army had to perish before the new army could advance to take the Promised Land. (Joshua 5:6) New wine cannot be put in old wineskins least they both perish.

When Israel crossed over the river Jordan, it was a whole new generation of men armed for war that went before them. (Joshua 6:13) Likewise, in order for the new army to arise today, there must be a death to the old mentality. What worked in the wilderness may get you killed in the Promise Land.

In preparation for the crossing, many have undergone surgery by the sword of the Spirit where they were circumcised. This is the hand of the Lord cutting away the old nature to bring forth His divine nature. The army that the Lord is bringing forth will not be prone to selfish ambition, jealousy or self-centeredness. Nor are they consumed with themselves seeking recognition.  Being free of pride and personal ambition, they are able to maintain rank. Even in the midst of such diversity of gifts and callings, they march in perfect unity.

It is said that 2010, is a year of completion. Look to the Lord to complete the work that He began in you that will position you to receive a greater anointing with a fresh impartation.  Israel was often attacked and oppressed by their enemies after they took possession of the Promised Land because they did not totally annihilate them. We cannot afford to tolerate oppression at any level, least it comes back to haunt us.

Prophetically, Philistines represent the flesh. In order to “flesh out” our adversary and displace him within our sphere of influence, we must not allow the works of the flesh to remain. Compromise is deadly. It is the divine nature of God and His Spirit which displaces the enemy, not our doctrines or carnality.

TIMES OF REFRESHING

There will be times of refreshing this year with the joy of the Lord poured out upon His people. It is the joy of the Lord that is our strength and we will never be stronger than when we dwell in His presence. As King David declared, at His right hand there are pleasures for evermore and in His presence, there is fullness of joy. (Psalms 16:11)

Psalms 91 is the Psalm for this year. The primary call of every Christian is to dwell in the secret place – the habitation of God. It is here that we win the victory in Christ as we abide under the shadow of the Almighty. As I like to say, intimacy with God is the main thing that we must keep in mind as the Maine thing.
